Dustin grew up inside a construction company — first under his grandfather, then under his uncle. He worked every role on the way up: field laborer, foreman, estimator, project manager. He knew the document hunt from inside the office and from inside the trailer.
Dow spent his career building software that ran at scale — enterprise systems at DXC, then operations tooling at Airbnb. The same shape of problem kept showing up: too much information, no organized retrieval, decisions made on whatever scrap of context you could find in time.
The trigger was simple: a project manager spending an entire afternoon scrolling a 600-page spec to find one warranty clause before a 5pm call with the owner. The information was right there. The retrieval was the problem.
So we built Knittrix construction-first. CSI codes, AIA articles, drawing-sheet metadata — the structure construction documents are written in is the structure the retrieval respects. Every answer carries a citation a PM can verify. Decisions stay yours. Conclusions stay traceable.
